Pedagogía indigena
Abstract
In this paper we will present a vision of a pedagogy of a native people of the Mayense family, named as Mam. This pedagogy is emerging, because it arises as a criticism of Western pedagogy, Western pedagogy consists of colonizing original knowledge.
It does not open up a dialogue towards the different types of knowledge, but instead supports itself as the center of unique and universal knowledge, characterizing the other that is different, as superstition; The traditional view of the West classifies the pedagogy of the original peoples as non-formal education.
We will present the way in which they taught from the social structure in which they lived or according to their eco-psycho-socio-cultural niche. We will mention the oral tradition that permeates the cultural knowledge of its inhabitants and their respective social function, ancestral knowledge still remains under the veil of another language, which in this case is Spanish.
