Abstract

Although there are multiple debates in philosophy on all subjects, there is no discussion about its origin: “it was born in ancient Greece.” Some academics claim indigenous discourses as philosophies, indirectly relativizing the Greek origin, but without debating it specifically. Apart from that, the position of Greece as the originator is absolutely hegemonic and homogeneous. This article carries out the work of placing the Greek origin in its conceptuality, not as a historical fact, to describe its consistency and functioning in the philosophical discipline. A gap will be found to think the origin in a broader way, as a general human activity. Thus, a dichotomy is established between the Greek and human origin, not as an open choice, but as a distinction of posibilities for current philosophical praxis.
