Epistemology and states of knowledge in educational research in Mexico

Abstract
This article shows a brief path about the construction of state of knowledge of educational research in Mexico, through the 1st National Congress of Educational Research, specifically the area called “Philosophy, theory and field of education”, where in recent years, epistemology has appeared as a key element to analyze the context of educational research in Mexico. This document shows how states of knowledge have been created from 1982 to 2012 and how epistemology has been included for contemporary analysis through a documentary review. The objective of this paper is to show up the relevance that epistemology has had into educational research and its projection in the construction of the next state of knowledge of the decade 2012-2021.
