The Autonomous University of Chiapas upholds Diamond Open Access as a fundamental principle. All of the institution’s scientific and humanities journals will make their content available immediately, free of charge, and without any financial barriers for readers or authors. The collection of article processing charges (APCs) or any other fees that condition publication is expressly prohibited. This policy ensures that knowledge generated in Chiapas is a common good, eliminating commercial intermediation and reaffirming the social function of the public university.

Economic exploitation rights will remain with the authors, and all texts will be disseminated under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) license, except in popular science journals where the variant that best facilitates the social circulation of knowledge may be chosen. In doing so, UNACH aligns itself with the sovereign open science policy promoted by SECIHTI and rejects the business model that has dominated global scientific publishing.
